Post-event: Doing Business in China, Politecnico di Milano, April 26th-27th

Dear Members and Friends of CICC,

For the third consecutive year the China Italy Chamber of Commerce has contributed to the organization of activities related to Politecnico di Milano’s annual visit to China, as part of the “Doing Business in China” EMBA and GEMOS exchange programs with Beijing Jiaotong University.

On April 26th the CICC organized the company visit of CRSC Research & Design Institute Group Co., Ltd., (CRSCD).

Founded in 1953, CRSCD is the pioneer of China’s rail transportation control system industry, dedicated to the design & research of rail transit signaling and communication in China. Its parent company, China Railway Signal & Communication Corporation (CRSC), is one of the largest rail transit transportation solution providers in the world.

The visit has represented the opportunity to exchange views about China-Italy cooperation in innovation and technology among:

- Mr. Zhou Wei, Technical General Manager of CRSCD;

- Mr. Emanuele de Maigret, Head of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Italian Embassy in the PRC;
- Mr. Guido Giacconi, Vice Chairman of the CICC;
- Mr. Roberto Cigolini, Professor of Supply Chain Management and Production Management at the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano.

After a brief company introduction, the Italian delegation was led to visit the R&D laboratories where they received an overview about the latest development projects, finally engaging in a Q&A session with the CRSCD’s team of experts.

The following day, on April 27th, the CICC organized the final event for the Politecnico di Milano delegation at naked Hub in Saniltun Soho, Beijing. The networking event gathered EMBA and MBA students and alumni for an informal  at the Naked Hub and open to Politecnico Alumni and guests from the business community in China.

The event was opened by Mr. Giacconi who briefed the audience on the importance of local actors’ support, such as the CICC’s, when operating in the fast-developing business environment in China.

Right after, Prof. Roberto Cigolini offered the audience an overview of the Alumni Community of Politecnico di Milano, a network of former students from the School of Management strengthened by frequent gatherings, interest groups, social clubs and empowered by FLEXA, an innovative continuous learning platform which enables you to identify the competencies required to achieve specific career goals.

The attendees had then their own chance to intervene through a roundtable session when they briefly presented themselves to the public.

The event continued through the presentation of Mr. Giovanni Pomati, MIP Alumnus, who shared his expertise and offered insights about strategies to operate in the Chinese market.

A Q&A session was followed by a networking moment, where the audience discussed about the seminar topics further with the speakers and engaged with CICC team in an informal atmosphere. 

The two-days activity remarked another successful cooperation between the CICC and Politecnico di Milano; the CICC looks forward to welcome back students and professors for further collaborations in China.
