Job description: 

The EUSME Centre is now looking to hire a “Marketing & Communication Assistant” for its office in Beijing on a short-term contract that will be completed on July 2018. The Marketing Team is at the core of the EU SME Centre’s marketing strategy. Allowing the Centre to be visible to EU SMEs and institutional partners throughout the EU’s 28 member states.

Main Duties


  • Plan and carry out digital marketing campaigns across different platforms including website, email and social media to increase the Centre’s brand visibility and sales 
  • Carry out marketing research, data input and analysis as well as reporting and presentation
  • Update website content and monitor website performance through Google Analytics and Google Webmasters
  • Monitor sales performance on Shopify and provide follow-up customer services
  • Prepare email campaigns in Mailchimp and social media posts for LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and WeChat
  • Collaborate with agencies and vendors for designing and producing the Centre’s marketing materials


Partnership Development and Client Relationships

  • Participate in the meetings with the Centre’s partners and stakeholders to introduce the Centre and promote its services
  • Maintain relationship and regular communications with key partners including embassies, chamber of commerce and government agencies
  • Reply to clients’ and partners’ general enquiries to the Centre and liaison with different teams to follow up
  • Facilitate activities for Enterprise Europe Network (EEN)


Media Outreach

  • Prepare press releases and industry articles and track media outreach performance


Event Support

  • Manage events registration, coordinate with venues and speakers, provide on-site support and participant follow-up


  • Any other work supporting the activities of the rest of the EU SME Centre as designated by the EU SME Centre’s Director
Education Background: 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent organisation, analytical and communication skills, can prioritiise a multitude of tasks
  • At least two years of professional experience
  • Excellent knowledge of training and event organisation, and research on market and business development
  • Experience of carrying out training online e.g. through webinars would be an advantage   
  • Excellent Chinese and English language skills, both spoken and written
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Ability to speak another EU language would be an advantage

The EU SME Centre (the Centre) is a project funded by the European Union, with aim to help EU small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that prepare to do business in China by providing them with a range of information, advice, training and support services. Established in October 2010, the Centre has entered its second phase which will run until July 2018

The Centre is implemented by a consortium of six partners - the China-Britain Business Council, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, and the French Chamber of Commerce in China, the EUROCHAMBRES, and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.
