09 March 2019

Dear Members and Friends,

The integrated promotion event "Vivere la montagna all'italiana - 山中有意 2019" took place in the Chinese ski resort of Chongli, home of the upcoming Winter Olympics of 2022, from 8 to 10 March 2019.

The event, promoted by the Embassy of Italy in China, in collaboration with the Sports Working Group of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Young Italians in China (AGIC), the Accredited Italian Embassy School in Beijing and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), was designed with the aim of promoting the Italian mountain industry in an integrated key, including some tourist destinations.

During the event, which involved more than 130 people, some of the most important Italian clothing and winterwear brands on the Chinese market (Tecnica, Nordica, Ciesse Outdoor, Westscout, Vibram, Mico, Ski Trab) and important Italian tourist resorts in the sector (Alta Badia, Arabba, Bardonecchia, Bormio, Courmayeur, Madonna di Campiglio, Ponte di Legno-Tonale, Roccaraso, Sestriere) were exploited.

The Italian mountain food and wine culture has been at the center of the dinner at the refuge of the prestigious Thaiwoo Resort, where different IGP and DOP products have been valorised. The dinner was also an opportunity to present the I Love Italian Wine campaign by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE).

On March 8th, a first launch event took place at the Italian Culture Institute in the presence of the local, where CICC was represented by its Sport Working Group (SWG) and Tourism Working Group (ICTC) Coordinators.

On this occasion, aside of introducing the joined activities of Italian Institutions in China aimed at promoting the Italian mountain industry, dr. Valerio Malfatto, founder and master of the Jam Session Ski Academy Network, illustrated the strengths of skiing teaching by Italian ski schools.

CICC would like to thank everyone who took part in the event.

Kind Regards

CICC Team
