
PROMEC
Since 1996, PROMEC, Special Agency of the Modena Chamber of Commerce has been implementing promotional activities in favour of the internationalisation of the companies of the province. Operating according to private law norms, it is able to adapt, quickly and promptly to the changing needs of Modena companies wanting to export to foreign markets; PROMEC employs purposely-hired professional staff and, during the course of its annual activities, it actively cooperates with the business organisations of the province and with the export consortiums within the Modena area. To sharpen its operating edge, PROMEC also strives to set up, maintain and expand a national and international network of links with Institutions, Italian and foreign Chambers of Commerce, ICE (Foreign Trade Institute) offices, Region and with the regional Counter for internationalisation. The three major service lines into which PROMEC is split are: International Promotion, Specialised Assistance and Information, Training.
International Promotion: PROMEC organises trade fairs, business missions, partnership projects targeted at promoting encounters between Modena firms and potential foreign partners, in an area marketing perspective.
Specialised Assistance and Information: considering the dimension of internationalisation is no longer restricted to exchanging goods, but also includes direct investments, technical-production and sales agreements, acquisition and transfer of patents and licences, for a company, undertaking a path of internationalisation, means acquiring the ability to respond in a more effective and efficient way to market prompts, identifying the strategies most suitable to its corporate mission. The PROMEC offices are at disposal to provide information and initial guidance to companies interested in following their own path of internationalisation.
Training in the field of foreign trade and international marketing: PROMEC proposes courses, seminars and meetings targeted at company personnel and relating to international trade, sales networks, corporate globalisation strategies, international transport, international payments and documentary credits, currency exchange risks, corporate financing and incentives, customs regulations, international contracts, international marketing, country days.
Training as regards quality, environment, safety on the workplace, privacy: PROMEC organises workshops and seminars of a specialised nature for company personnel accredited by certification institutes such as CEPAS, ANGQ, courses in compliance with SINAL (National System for Accreditation of Laboratories) regulations, company product certification. To complete the range of initiatives and activities which PROMEC implements to bolster Modena’s economy and successfully place it on the global market, mention must also be made of the portal www.expomo.com, which represents a major “electronic showcase” and an online export-import catalogue of the companies of the province that export abroad, translated into four foreign languages (English, Spanish, Russian and Chinese).
