On January 15, 2026, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CCIC), together with its Healthcare Working Group, organized an exclusive company visit to BGI Center in Shenzhen. The event offered participants a unique behind-the-scenes look into one of the world’s leading genomics and life science organizations, while also celebrating the strong partnership between the Chamber and its member enterprises.
Upon arrival, the Chamber delegation was warmly welcomed by BGI Group. The visit began with a friendly exchange and an informative presentation covering BGI’s overall structure, mission, and latest advancements in biotechnology. Participants gained valuable insights into BGI’s sustainable and innovative approach to genomic research and its global impact across healthcare, conservation, and beyond.
Following the presentation, attendees engaged in an active and thoughtful Q&A session, discussing future trends in genomics, precision medicine, and sustainable health practices.
As a gesture of hospitality and partnership, BGI presented the Chamber with a commemorative gift, symbolizing the close ties and collaborative spirit between our organizations.
The group then embarked on a guided tour of BGI’s state-of-the-art facilities. Participants visited advanced laboratories, observed cutting-edge research equipment, and learned about BGI’s research - industry integrated development model. The tour also featured interactive experiences, including hands-on demonstrations such as sleep improvement analysis and skin quality testing — allowing guests to personally engage with the practical applications of genomic technology.
The visit concluded on a high note, with participants expressing great appreciation for the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, witness pioneering research in action, and gained better understanding of BGI's commitment of “Omics for All”.
