On Saturday, 25th April 2026, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) successfully held its exclusive seminar and dinner event titled “What future for Europe? A conversation with Enrico Letta” that took place at the Ritz-Carlton (Pudong), in Shanghai.

This was a rare opportunity to engage directly with leading international figures and discuss the future of Europe in a changing global landscape. Both the keynote speech and the seminar offered strategic insights into the dynamics between Europe, Italy, and China, addressing key issues such as bilateral cooperation, economic trends, and geopolitical shifts.

The event was supported by The European House - Ambrosetti and Generali Asia.

Highlights of the event:

  • The event was attended by 60 participants, including professionals from CCIC member and non-member companies.

  • The event opened with welcome remarks by Fabrizio Costa, Secretary General of CCIC, and Fabio Lambertini, CCIC Vice-Chairman of Eastern China.

  • This was followed by a keynote speech by Liqun Jin, Former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance of China and Former President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

  • The conversation with Enrico Letta (President of the IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs at IE University and former Prime Minister of Italy), moderated by Mattia Marino (China CEO of The European House - Ambrosetti), developed into a nuanced and forward-looking discussion.

  • To follow, a lively Q&A session, offering participants valuable insights into the forces shaping today’s international environment.

  • The seminar concluded with closing remarks by H.E. Massimo Ambrosetti, Italian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China.


​The evening concluded with a formal dinner, providing an opportunity for continued interaction in a more informal setting, fostering meaningful connections, and encouraging further reflection on the topics discussed during the seminar.
