2025-11-21

The Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, together with ITA–Italian Trade Agency, was pleased to support the Delegation of Confindustria Vicenza, composed of 26 companies and led by Confindustria Vicenza President Barbara Beltrame Giacomello, during their exploratory mission to China with the goal of developing a better understanding of the Chinese market.

The visit began in Beijing on November 18th, where the delegation was welcomed in the Italian Embassy and by the wider Sistema Italia, as well as by the CICC Secretary General Fabrizio Costa and CICC Beijing Vice Chairman Andrea Croci. These institutional meetings strengthened dialogue with Italian institutions and companies based in the capital.

The mission then continued in Shanghai with an intensive two-day program. On November 19th, a dedicated meeting with the Italian business community was held on the 20th floor of The Center Shanghai. The session opened with welcome remarks by Tiziana D’Angelo, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai; Lorenzo Riccardi, Chairman of the CICC; and Barbara Beltrame Giacomello, President of Confindustria Vicenza. Moderated by Augusto Di Giacinto, Director of the ICE Office in Shanghai, the meeting featured contributions from representatives of major organizations, including Intesa Sanpaolo Shanghai, SACE, Alcantara Cina, Marposs Shanghai, UFI Filters, Max Mara Shanghai, and Professor Roberto Donà from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou. Each provided an overview of their company’s activities, offered perspectives on operating in the Chinese market, and shared insights into emerging business opportunities and challenges. Representatives from the Chamber were also present, further reinforcing the CICC’s role in fostering dialogue within the Italian business community.

On the afternoon of November 19th and throughout November 20th, the CICC, together with ITA, supported the delegation across a comprehensive agenda of company visits and institutional touchpoints, enabling direct engagement with firms active in strategic sectors in the Yangtze River Delta region. This included site visits to Danikor, specialized in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of automatic feeding and intelligent tightening solutions; SAIC Maxus, a prominent automotive manufacturer in China; TCab Tech, a leading innovative enterprise in China specializing in the development of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft; Florentia Village Shanghai, one of the key Italian retail landmarks in China promoting Italian lifestyle and premium brands; and Flexiv Robotics Technology (located in the Zizhu High Tech Park), a global leader in advanced robotics, renowned for its groundbreaking innovations in adaptive robot systems. These visits offered meaningful exchanges on business models, innovation paths, and cooperation opportunities.

We warmly thank Confindustria Vicenza for the collaboration, ITA Shanghai for the co-organization, and all the companies involved for the insights shared and the hospitality provided.

As always, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce continues to support Italian companies with targeted events that not only promote Made in Italy but also provide opportunities for updates, networking, and strengthening relationships with local authorities, supporting Italian businesses in their growth and success in the Chinese market.
