On June 6th, the XIII Edition of Career Day took place at the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing. The event, organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) together with the Embassy of Italy to the P.R.C., the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing, the Association of Young Italians in China (AGIC), and the CCIC Young Professionals Network, brought together young professionals, students, and leading companies for an afternoon of networking, career development, and recruitment opportunities both offline and online.
The event opened with remarks by Federico Roberto Antonelli, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing, welcoming attendees and stressing the importance of building professional bridges between Italy and China, Francesco Innocenti, CCIC Board Member North China who reaffirmed CCIC's commitment to supporting talent development and strengthening the dialogue between companies, students, and young professionals through initiatives such as the Young Professionals & Students Network.
The seminar session provided participants with practical insights on living, studying, and working in China.
Marco Lattanzi, First Counsellor and Head of the Consular Chancery at the Embassy of Italy in Beijing, introduced the consular services available to young Italians in China, while Federico Roberto Antonelli, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing, presented training and professional opportunities in the public and cultural sectors.
The discussion then focused on career-related topics, with Filippo Sticconi, AGIC Board Member and Partner Lawyer at GWA Asia, providing an overview of visas and employment contracts in China, and Raffaello Girotto, Legal Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in Beijing, explaining the recognition of academic qualifications between Italy and China.
The seminar concluded with practical advice from Gi Group on preparing for job interviews and successfully approaching the Chinese job market, followed by an engaging Q&A session.
The offline job fair took place thanks to the support of CCIC Member companies that opened opportunities for young talents in the market. Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with company representatives. Job openings spanned across sectors such as insurance, luxury retail, international trade, manufacturing, and professional services, with candidates securing interviews on the spot.
