On May 19, 2026, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC), together with MEGW, organized a one-day business trip to Suqian Economic and Technological Development Area (SNETDA), Jiangsu Province. The visit aimed to explore local industrial capabilities, vocational training systems, and investment opportunities for Italian enterprises in SNETDA.
The trip began with a visit to Huaihai Technician Institute, where participants learned about the institute’s role in cultivating skilled industrial workers with strong technical expertise and high job stability.
After that, the delegation visited two well-known local enterprises, Jamco and Haday, gaining a closer understanding of SNETDA’s manufacturing strengths. Jamco is a Jiangsu-based precision manufacturer specializing in aluminium and steel components for automotive air-conditioning systems, invested by Italian company. Haday is a leading Chinese seasoning brand, widely known for soy sauce, oyster sauce and other everyday condiments.
In the afternoon, the group visited Amalfi Coffee Industrial Park (Suqian), a notable example of a coffee enterprise that has successfully operated in Suqian for over 20 years.
After a transfer to SNETDA, a joint meeting was held. Discussions covered favorable policies for smart manufacturing, supporting facilities for the precision machinery industry, and a full industrial chain serving local premium customers including Wahaha, Mengniu, and Hengli Textile. During the session, Mr. Ke Da and Ms. Antonella Fontanarosa from CCIC delivered speeches, expressing willingness and expectations for cooperation.
The trip concluded with a Q&A session where Mr. Maurizio Barolo and Mr. Leo Huang raised questions. The visit provided a valuable platform for Italian businesses to better understand SNETDA’s industrial ecosystem and explore potential cooperation opportunities in the Yangtze River Delta region.
As an important economic and industrial platform in northern Jiangsu, SNETDA has demonstrated strong development potential, solid manufacturing foundations, and an increasingly attractive business environment. With its growing industrial clusters, supportive policies, and expanding network of high-quality enterprises, SNETDA is becoming a competitive destination for international cooperation and investment, offering new opportunities for Italian companies seeking long-term development in China.
