On September 23, 2026, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) joined the Shanghai leg of Napoli incontra la Cina, a mission aimed at strengthening dialogue between Naples and China. Cristina Corsini, CCIC Board Member in Shanghai, delivered greetings on behalf of the Chamber.
The meeting brought together the Naples delegation and representatives of several Shanghai districts, led by Hongqiao, as well as universities and businesses. The Naples delegation included Alessandra Clemente, Naples City Councilor and delegate of Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, and Carmine Foreste, President of the Naples Bar Association, accompanied by members of its Council. Professor Giorgio Ventre joined remotely on behalf of the University of Naples Federico II.
In her remarks, Councilor Clemente presented Naples and discussed opportunities for future cooperation with Chinese counterparts. President Foreste highlighted the role of lawyers and in-house legal professionals in supporting international collaboration and business development. He also expressed the hope that an agreement with Chinese legal counterparts could be developed in the near future.
The discussion continued with numerous questions from Chinese participants, reflecting strong interest in the opportunities presented and in further exchanges. The Shanghai meeting formed part of a wider mission that also includes Guangzhou and Shenzhen, with a focus on economic, cultural, professional and academic cooperation.
During the event, Councillor Clemente, on behalf of Mayor Manfredi, presented Cristina Corsini with the Medal of the City of Naples in recognition of her commitment in China. In her remarks at the presentation, she spoke about Naples and recalled the Four Days of Naples ahead of their anniversary.
CCIC welcomes opportunities for dialogue that bring Italian and Chinese institutions, professionals and businesses together, and looks forward to seeing the connections made during the mission develop further.
