On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) successfully organized a Factory Tour at OMPI China & Stevanato Group in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu, offering participants an in-depth exploration of advanced pharmaceutical primary packaging manufacturing.
The event opened with remarks by Mr. Lorenzo Bali, Board Director of CCIC, and Mr. Valerio Preti, Senior Plant Director of OMPI China & Stevanato Group. Both speakers welcomed the participants and briefly introduced the background of the event and the factory tour agenda.
Further insights were shared by Mr. Michael Ju, Senior Business Director – Greater China, together with Mr. Valerio Preti, who presented an overview of the company’s industrial layout and development in China and globally, and outlined the Group’s position in the pharmaceutical glass primary packaging sector, with a focus on technological innovation and quality management systems.
A topic sharing session titled “Manufacturing Excellence in China” was delivered by Mr. Martín Rodríguez, DCS Operational Excellence Project Manager. The session provided an overview of manufacturing operations and management practices at OMPI China, offering insights into its approach to operational excellence.
The event concluded with a guided tour of the showroom and production facilities. Participants observed highly automated production lines as well as a large-scale, intelligently managed warehouse, reflecting advanced logistics integration and precision-driven industrial processes. The visit provided valuable insights into the manufacturing of pharmaceutical-grade glass packaging.
