On Monday, 11th May 2026, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) successfully held the Suzhou Interchamber Automotive Leadership Exchange, co-organized together with The Singapore Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Jiangsu Center and Taicang Roundtable, with the support of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, that took place at the W Hotel Suzhou.

This closed-door meeting brought together senior leaders from across the automotive industry for high-level dialogue and collaboration, offering a focused setting to explore the evolving dynamics and future of automotive partnerships. The exchange convened procurement leaders from leading OEMs alongside “hidden champions” from the automotive components sector, with academic experts contributing forward-looking perspectives on industry trends and innovation.

Highlights of the event:

  • The event was attended by member and non-member companies ranging from, professionals from the CCIC, SingCham Jiangsu, and Taicang Roundtable.

  • Opening with welcome remarks and an introduction by the moderator, Prof. Gao Yuan, Associate Professor and Ph.D. at Tongji University.

  • This was followed by sharing expert insights from qualified speakers with different perspectives on the automotive industry. Four different experts presented their opinions on the current challenges and opportunities facing the industry.

  • A panel discussion moderated by Prof. Gao Yuan developed into a nuanced and forward-looking exchange on three key topics shaping today’s supply chain landscape: building resilience amid tariffs and global market shifts, strengthening Tier 2 to Tier 1 relationships and navigating AVL access, and the outlook and strategic considerations for all automotive suppliers.

  • To follow, a lively Q&A session and key takeaways, offering participants valuable insights into the forces shaping today’s automotive industry.​

The evening concluded with pre-dinner networking and a buffet dinner, providing an opportunity for continued interaction in a more informal setting, fostering meaningful connections, and encouraging further reflection on the topics discussed during the seminar.
