On Tuesday, 9th June 2026, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) successfully held the event titled “Talk on China’s 15th Five-Year Plan” that took place at Ferrero Office in Shanghai.
This was an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into China’s evolving economic landscape and the strategic priorities shaping its future development. The event offered valuable perspectives on macroeconomic trends, the implementation of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, and the opportunities and challenges facing foreign companies operating in China amid a changing geopolitical environment.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENT:
- The event was attended by around 40 participants, including professionals from CCIC member and non-member companies.
- The event opened with welcoming remarks by Mr. David Zhang, General Manager of Ferrero China.
- This was followed by the CCIC Members Meeting of Eastern China, with the presentation of the newly elected CCIC Board of Directors.
- Next, a keynote speech by Xiaowen Tan, Associate Professor at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics.
- The conversation with Alicia García-Herrero (Chief Economist for Asia Pacific at Natixis, Adjunct Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, member of the Advisory Committee for Economic Affairs of the Spanish Government, and Advisor to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s research arm), moderated by Mattia Marino (China CEO of The European House - Ambrosetti), offered an in-depth analysis of China’s macroeconomic trends and future development priorities.
- To follow, a lively discussion with participants, allowing attendees to exchange perspectives and address key challenges and opportunities in China’s evolving economic landscape.
The event concluded with a networking refreshment, providing an opportunity for informal interactions, fostering meaningful connections, and encouraging further discussion on the topics covered during the seminar.
