The Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) took part in an institutional event at the Grand Theatre in Shanghai’s Hongkou District, attended by Mayor Jiang Rui, with the participation of CCIC Chairman Lorenzo Riccardi and CCIC Public Affairs Manager Wei Chen. The occasion provided an important opportunity for dialogue and engagement with local authorities and key institutional stakeholders, strengthening relations between CCIC and the Hongkou District administration. The presence of CCIC representatives reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to supporting Italian enterprises in Shanghai and to fostering structured cooperation with municipal institutions in the framework of Sino-Italian economic and commercial relations.
Special attention was given to Hongkou’s strategic development, particularly the rapid growth of the North Bund area, which is positioning itself as a key hub for shipping, financial services, and technological innovation, with the district targeting a GDP of 150 billion yuan. This transformation is increasingly attracting new foreign investment and creating concrete opportunities for international companies, including Italian enterprises seeking to expand their presence in Shanghai.
