Italian Chamber of Commerce in China's delegation, led by Andrea Croci, CCIC Vice President in North China, met with Mr. Yang Yihang, Deputy Director General of the China Investment Promotion Agency, for an exchange on strengthening China–Italy economic and investment cooperation.
The meeting provided an opportunity to present an overview of the Italian business community in China and discuss key investment trends and challenges. Around 1,500 Italian companies are currently active in China and, according to the Chamber’s Business Sentiment Survey 2026, over 70% of these companies have been operating in China for more than ten years, confirming their long-term commitment to the market.
The Chamber also emphasized the continued interest of Italian companies in innovation and high-value industries, with 31% of surveyed firms investing in R&D activities in China, particularly in advanced manufacturing, high-tech industries, biopharmaceuticals, and premium consumer sectors.
Discussions further explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation in investment promotion, support for Italian companies operating in China, and facilitation of Chinese enterprises expanding internationally, with both sides identifying scope to further strengthen bilateral economic ties.
The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to maintaining regular dialogue and advancing practical cooperation in support of China–Italy economic relations.
