The Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) held official meetings with Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) and Suzhou New District (SND) authorities on July 30, strengthening cooperation between Italy and Suzhou in business, innovation and cultural exchange.
The CCIC delegation was led by Chairman Gianni Di Giovanni, together with Vice President in Suzhou Lorenzo Bali, and Board Directors Davide Angelibusi and Ke Da.
MEETING WITH SUZHOU INDUSTRIAL PARK
The delegation met with Mr. Wei Shujie, Member of the CPC SIP Working Committee and Vice Chairman of the SIP Administrative Committee.
The meeting highlighted the long-standing relationship between SIP and Italy, as well as including the sister-city relationship between Suzhou and Venice. Both sides recognized the important role of Italian companies that have invested and developed in SIP over the years, with some enterprises having established a long-term presence in the region for more than two decades, contributing to the close economic ties between Italy and Suzhou.
Discussions further focused on strengthening long-term cooperation between Italian enterprises and SIP, as well as promoting two-way exchanges in areas such as advanced manufacturing, industrial innovation and green development.
MEETING WITH SUZHOU NEW DISTRICT
The delegation met with Mr. Xu Jiming, Deputy Party Secretary of CPC SND Working Committee, District Mayor of Suzhou Huqiu District.
The two sides exchanged views on future cooperation in technological innovation, industrial development and services for international enterprises. They also discussed further strengthening connections between Italian companies and local partners through continued dialogue and cooperation.
During the meeting, CCIC Chairman Gianni Di Giovanni emphasized the importance of developing long-term partnerships between Italian companies and Chinese stakeholders, moving beyond a traditional customer relationship. He highlighted the value of deeper cooperation and mutual growth between businesses from both countries.
Looking ahead, CCIC and Suzhou authorities will continue to strengthen exchanges, explore new opportunities for cooperation between Italian and Chinese enterprises, and work together with a shared commitment to supporting Italian companies in Suzhou.
