A delegation from the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC), led by Chairman Lorenzo Riccardi and Board Member Alessandro Petrini, visited the Senate Library (Biblioteca del Senato "Giovanni Spadolini") in Rome to present a publication chronicling the history of the Chamber and its role in fostering bilateral economic relations between Italy and China. The volume, donated by Chairman Riccardi to the Library's Director, represents a significant contribution to the academic documentation of Italian entrepreneurial presence in China.
The Senate Library is one of Italy's most important cultural institutions . Together with the Library of the Chamber of Deputies, it forms the Italian Joint Parliamentary Library (Polo Bibliotecario Parlamentare) , the largest parliamentary library in Europe; the Parliamentary Library system serves both as a working library for members of Parliament and as a major cultural resource accessible to the public, with reading rooms open year-round to scholars and researchers.
During the visit, the CCIC delegation had the opportunity to explore a number of publications related to Sino-Italian relations, including issues of "Mondo Cinese," the influential quarterly journal founded in 1973 that has long served as a key forum for academic and economic analysis of China . The delegation also examined books and archived documents tracing the bilateral economic ties, witnessing firsthand the Library's rich collections that document over a century of diplomatic and commercial exchange. This donation and research visit underscores CCIC's commitment to preserving and promoting the historical memory of Italian enterprise in China.
