On the afternoon of August 5, the member exchange activity "Invest in Shanghai - Share the Future" 2026 Shanghai Investment Promotion Institution Joint Conference (SIPP) was successfully held in Putuo district under the guidance of the Municipal Commission of Commerce and jointly organized by the Municipal Foreign Investment Promotion Center and the Putuo District Commission of Commerce.
Nearly 200 participants attended, including representatives from investment promotion agencies in Shanghai from countries and regions such as South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Singapore, and the UAE, as well as domestic and foreign chambers of commerce, district commerce and investment promotion departments, key industrial parks, professional service institutions, and technology enterprises. Shi Xiaoping, a second-level inspector at the Municipal Commission of Commerce, attended the event and delivered a speech. The Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) participated the meeting with CCIC Vice President East China Mattia Marino and Public Affairs Manager Wei Chen.
During the exchange session, Mattia Marino was invited to attend and deliver a speech. He introduced the current development status of Italian enterprises in Shanghai, combined with the trends in Sino-Italian economic and trade cooperation, expressed confidence in the industrial development potential of Putuo District, and looked forward to leveraging this event as an opportunity to attract more high-quality Italian enterprises to focus on and invest in Putuo District, while expanding bilateral investment and cooperation prospects by capitalizing on China-Italy industrial complementarity in Shanghai priority areas identified in Shanghai's "15th Five-Year Plan" where Italian “hidden champions” can play a pivotal role.
During the policy interpretation session, Wang Yonggang, Director of Development Planning Department of Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission provided authoritative insights into Shanghai's "15th Five-Year Plan" for Building a Modern Industrial System Construction Plan. Meanwhile, Li Mingliang, Chief Analyst of Policy and Industry Research Institute of Guotai Haitong focused on institutional financial openness, offering detailed interpretations of Shanghai's offshore financial action plan and key development directions in the financial sector.
The Shanghai Investment Promotion Partnership (SIPP) was established in May 2012, under the guidance of the Municipal Commission of Commerce, jointly initiated by the Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Center and 15 domestic and foreign investment promotion agencies. It is the first provincial-level investment promotion cooperation platform in China. The alliance takes "cooperation, exchange, service, and win-win" as its purpose, closely follows project needs and enterprise demands, builds a global investment promotion service network, continuously improves the level of two-way investment work in Shanghai, optimizes the business environment for foreign investment, and stabilizes the long-term development expectations of foreign investment. The alliance's secretariat is located at the Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Center.
