On April 8, 2026, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) welcomed Mr. Xue Feng, President of Invest Shanghai, accompanied by Ms. Yang Jane, and Mr. Zhang Yincheng, Manager, Liaison & Events Department of Invest Shanghai, at its new Shanghai office to discuss strengthening investment and trade cooperation between Italy and Shanghai. They were received by Mr. Lorenzo Riccardi, Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, and Ms. Antonella Fontanarosa, General Manager of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China.
Mr. Lorenzo Riccardi welcomed Mr. Xue Feng and presented the new office of the CCIC in Shanghai. During the meeting, he emphasized Shanghai’s strategic importance in terms of trade and investment, particularly for new foreign companies and investment activities. He noted that a growing number of economic and governmental delegations are expected to visit Shanghai and expressed the Chamber’s desire to increase collaboration through more investment exchange events, as well as initiatives promoting “Made in Italy” in Shanghai. Mr. Riccardi also affirmed the support of the Center for Foreign Investment Promotion.
Mr. Xue Feng highlighted the important role played by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China in helping Italian companies strengthen cooperation with local governments. He noted that CCIC actively promotes the elevation of economic, trade, and exchange cooperation between China and Italy to a higher level.
President Xue Feng expressed appreciation for Mr. Riccardi’s leadership as Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China. He introduced the latest economic and social developments in Shanghai, noting that this year marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. He emphasized that the primary industries for the coming period will be biomedicine, artificial intelligence (AI), and integrated circuit industry.
Mr. Xue Feng further stated that Italy possesses significant advantages in the development of various industries and is a key country in Europe. Italian enterprises have achieved remarkable success in Shanghai and in Sino-Italian cooperation projects. Invest Shanghai is willing to deepen cooperation with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China to support the development of Italian enterprises in Shanghai, promote comprehensive cooperation between Shanghai and Italy in investment, trade, and other fields, and welcome more Italian enterprises to pursue better development in Shanghai.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Lorenzo Riccardi presented an award plaque to Mr. Xue Feng as a token of appreciation for their support of the Italian business community in Shanghai.
