On February 11th, 2026, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) held a bilateral meeting with Chengdu Opening-up International Cooperation Center (COICC) at latter’s office, where the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on institutional development, Chengdu-Italian economic and trade cooperation directions, and reached consensus on deepening pragmatic cooperation in key fields.
CCIC was represented by its Vice President in the Southwest Mr. Massimo Bagnasco. The COICC delegation was led by Mr. YIN Jian, Director of COICC, with attendance from Mr. WU Keyu, Director of Investment Projects Division of Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Commerce, as well as Mr. ZHOU Pan and Ms. HE Shan, heads of COICC’s Investment Promotion Department and Trade Promotion Department.
At the meeting, COICC side detailed its institutional positioning, "1+2+3" responsibility system and four core development tasks, and introduced the construction and operation of the Chengdu Comprehensive Service Center for Enterprises Going Global, putting forward cooperation expectations on expanding European overseas partner networks and precise matching of trade and investment opportunities.
Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Commerce also shared its 2026 key work focus and proposed five key Sino-Italian cooperation industries including high-end & intelligent manufacturing and green & new energy.
VP Bagnasco highly introduced CCIC’s development history, resource advantages and its leading role in the EU SME Center consortium and expressed full confidence in Chengdu’s development potential and bilateral cooperation prospects. The two sides had in-depth discussions on platform promotion, industry exchange and event co-organization, and confirmed follow-up cooperation actions. Both parties agreed to establish a long-term stable communication mechanism, carry out in-depth cooperation in key industries and fields such as manufacturing, Lifestyle and Tourism, and accelerate the implementation of cooperative initiatives including enterprise delegation visits, investment environment seminars and platform promotion in Europe.
In the future, CCIC and COICC will join hands to build a more efficient Sino-Italian cooperation bridge, inject new impetus into Chengdu’s high-level opening-up and high-quality development, and achieve win-win development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
