On 14 May, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) delegation, led by Vice President Andrea Croci, met in Beijing with Wang Yupeng, Deputy Director General of the European Affairs Department of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.
The meeting provided an opportunity to present the findings of the Chamber’s latest CCIC Business Sentiment Survey 2026, offering an overview of the current business sentiment among Italian companies operating in China.
During the discussion, several market access and operational concerns highlighted in the survey were addressed with regards to: price competition, cited by 71% of companies surveyed; demand fluctuations and the broader market slowdown continue to influence investment planning and business expansion decisions; regulatory environment also remains a key challenge, particularly for companies investing in advanced technologies, and the broader impact of geopolitical tensions.
The Chamber also emphasized the importance of further developing bilateral agreements, including progress on social security and pension coordination mechanisms, which could facilitate international mobility and reduce operational burdens for expatriate employees.
The Chamber looks forward to continuing the dialogue and further strengthening exchanges to facilitate a stronger two-way business cooperation between Italy and China.
