On April 13th, the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, together with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), SACE, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC), welcomed a delegation from the Fondazione Innovation Bridge. The initiative took place at The Center in Shanghai.
The delegation, composed of over 20 Italian companies and led by its President, Giancarlo De Leonardo, was welcomed in Shanghai for an institutional exchange aimed at deepening the understanding of the Chinese market.
Innovation Bridge is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the dissemination of technological culture across industries and production sectors. Starting from the province of Frosinone, it aims to establish a new center of excellence in Italy, inspired by the successful model of Silicon Valley, and to support Italian companies in their innovation and internationalization journeys.
The meeting brought together key representatives of the Italian economic and institutional system in China, with the objective of providing the delegation with first-hand insights into the opportunities and challenges faced by Italian companies looking to invest and operate in the country. Particular focus was placed on identifying high-potential sectors, understanding market dynamics, and discussing effective approaches to entering and navigating the Chinese business environment.
The session opened with remarks by Tiziana D’Angelo, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, followed by Fabio De Cillis, Trade Commissioner of ITA Shanghai. Contributions were then delivered by Donato Morea, Head of Asia Pacific at SACE; Lorenzo Riccardi, Chairman of CCIC and CEO of RsA Asia; and Mario Huang, General Manager of Intesa Sanpaolo Shanghai Branch. Each speaker shared valuable perspectives from their respective areas of expertise, outlining strategic priorities and practical considerations for Italian companies engaging with China.
The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, offering participants the opportunity to address specific questions and gain further insights into China–Italy economic cooperation.
