On April 15, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) took part in the grand opening of the flagship store of its member company, Golden Goose, located in Taikoo Li, Beijing. CCIC was represented by its Vice President for Northern China, Andrea Croci; Secretary General, Fabrizio Costa; Deputy Secretary General, Federica Viggiani; and Event Manager, Aurora Di Muzio.
The new space draws inspiration from HAUS in Marghera, Venice — the brand’s birthplace — integrating its design language and embodying the philosophy of “perfect imperfection.” It is conceived as a dynamic cultural platform that blends Venetian heritage with Chinese creativity.
Spanning 475 square meters, the flagship marks a new chapter for Golden Goose in the Chinese market. More than a retail space, it is envisioned as a “living space” that brings together craftsmanship, artistic expression, and cultural dialogue. The opening event brought this vision to life through a multi-sensory experience across two floors.
At the entrance of the second floor, guests encountered an installation by Chinese contemporary artist Chen Xunan. Using fragmented porcelain as a medium, the artist reconstructed it into sculptural forms full of tension. At the center stands a large sculpture inspired by Golden Goose’s iconic star motif, surrounded by vertical columns composed of stacked diamond-shaped elements derived from the same geometry. Crafted using traditional Chinese porcelain techniques, the installation bridges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary visual language, echoing the brand’s core spirit of “perfect imperfection.”
On the day of the event, guests were invited to participate in a porcelain art workshop led by Chen Xunan. Inspired by the brand’s signature star, participants transformed porcelain fragments into unique star-shaped artworks, celebrating authenticity and individuality.
On the second floor, guests received a fortune-bag-inspired custom tote bag, which accompanied them throughout the in-store journey while collecting memories along the way. They also experienced silk-screen printing on the tote bags, further immersing themselves in the “Co-Creation” concept.
The experience extended to the first-floor Co-Creation area, where guests participated in an interactive “Lucky Star Fortune” activity. Blending symbolism with personalization, guests could choose from three themes—“Star of Luck,” “Star of Journey,” and “Star of Resonance”—to receive a personalized message and an exclusive star pin, which could be added to their tote bags. This experience further highlighted Golden Goose’s emphasis on emotional connection.
Creative music collective Yeti Out energized the atmosphere with dynamic sounds and rhythms. The culinary experience was equally thoughtful, featuring locally inspired beverages paired with traditional Italian snacks and Beijing roast duck, showcasing a fusion of Italian and Chinese culinary cultures.
The celebration continued at Temple Dongjingyuan, a cultural and art space set within a historic Ming Dynasty temple. Guests attended a private dinner and enjoyed a shadow puppetry performance by Dang Feihua, a fifth-generation inheritor of the Wang-style shadow play tradition.
Attendees of the opening night included Chinese actors Hu Yitian and Chen Ran, artist Chen Yanran, and a range of cultural and creative industry figures, all witnessing this moment of cultural resonance.
