SACE and Generali China introduce Trade Credit Insurance for Italian companies in China. The new product was presented during the One-to-One Business Meetings with SACE, Generali China and Intesa Sanpaolo Shanghai Branch, held on 8 September 2026 at the CCIC Suzhou Office.
Trade Credit Insurance is an integrated solution developed by SACE and Generali China to protect the trade receivables of Italian companies operating in China while supporting their business growth. It is designed for businesses that sell to Chinese customers on deferred payment terms and want to reduce credit risk without slowing down their growth.
The process starts with an analysis of the company's customer portfolio. SACE and Generali China assess the Chinese buyers through a structured underwriting process, define the credit limits that can be insured and, once the limits are set, issue the policy. Buyer assessment continues over time, with ongoing monitoring and updates and the possibility of onboarding new buyers as the business expands.
Key benefits for companies include:
- Protection against non-payment risk;
- Improved cash flow stability;
- Stronger and safer business growth in China;
- Better access to financing with banks;
- Greater confidence in offering competitive payment terms to customers.
