On December 6th 2021, a bilateral meeting was held between the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing and the government leaders of Tianfu New Area, at the CICC office in Chongqing.
The CICC was represented by the Chairman Mr Paolo Bazzoni and the Board Member in South-West Mr Gianluca Luisi, accompanied by a representative from the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing, Counselor Mr Lorenzo Gonzo. Tianfu New Area delegation was led by Mr Wang Tiangang, Deputy Director of Management Committee of TFNA, accompanied by Mr Li Qian, CEO of Sichuan Tianfu International Exhibition Company, Mr Lu Qiansheng, Deputy Director of Culture, Innovation and Exhibition Bureau of TFNA, Mrs Huang Xiaozhu, General Manager Assistant of Sichuan Tianfu International Exhibition Company, Mrs Chen Lan, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Sichuan Tianfu International Exhibition Company, Mr Deng Yihu, Deputy Minister of Planning and Construction Department of Culture, Innovation and Exhibition Bureau, Mr Li Tangyao, Deputy Minister of Exhibition Economy Department of Culture, Innovation and Exhibition Bureau.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss about the past cooperation activities between the Parties, while outlining the priorities for the coming year. 2021 registered a new milestone for the Parties, with the establishment of the CICC Office in Chengdu in November, as one of the main catalysts for cooperation between Italy and China in the Tianfu Cultural Innovation Park. While recognizing the efforts spared by the Parties in launching this cooperation within the bigger framework of the Sino-Italian Cultural and Innovation Park, Mr Wang Tiangang congratulated with the CICC for the achievements reached so far in terms of increasing membership base and undertaken projects.
As one of the priorities of the bilateral meeting, the renewal of CICC Office in Tianfu was discussed. The Parties reached consensus over the strengthening of the Italian entrepreneurial presence in the dynamic area of Tianfu, through the upgrade of the office area. This shall be equipped by an incubator ad hoc for all the Italian companies willing to settle down and expand business activities in Southwest China, Chengdu, with focus on the opportunities in Tianfu New Area.
Chairman Bazzoni took the occasion to thank Director Wang for the priviledged support given to CICC and to all the Italian projects in the area.
At the end of the meeting, the Parties discussed the possibility of organizing specific seminars and business events during 2022 in the fields of fashion, food&beverage, smart technologies and innovation, creative industries, among the others, as to provide platforms for bilateral dialogue between Italian and Chinese enterprises and institutions.
