On September 18th, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) and its Mechanical Engineering Working Group (MEWG), in collaboration with the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce, held a successful company visit to CRRC Sifang and Carraro China in Qingdao.
The event brought together around 20 participants, who gained first-hand insight into the two companies’ manufacturing and engineering operations, while deepening their understanding of advanced industrial technologies and international business in the Chinese market.
The day started with a visit to CRRC Sifang, where participants were first introduced to the company through a company overview, covering its history, development and main products and activities. The delegation then visited the National Engineering Laboratory and the Assembly Workshop, where participants had the opportunity to observe the manufacturing and assembly processes first-hand and gain a closer understanding of CRRC Sifang’s R&D activities, technological innovation and production processes.
The visit concluded with a meeting between the delegation, led by Francesco Innocenti, CCIC Board Member for North China, and CRRC Sifang representatives and senior executives, followed by an open discussion on the company’s activities, technological development and manufacturing capabilities.
Following the visit, participants headed to Carraro China for a lively lunch together, before touring the factory to discover its manufacturing operations and engineering capabilities in transmission systems for off-road vehicles, with a focus on production, innovation and localization.
The afternoon closed with a company presentation delivered by Derek Wang, General Manager of Carraro China, followed by a Q&A session that opened up further dialogue on industrial cooperation, innovation, and business opportunities in the Chinese market.
