The Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) and its Mechanical Engineering Working Group (MEWG), in collaboration with the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce are pleased to invite you to the Company Visit to CRRC Sifang Qingdao and Carraro China, taking place on September 18th, 2026, in QingdaoShandong Province.

The visit will offer participants a unique opportunity to explore two leading industrial companies operating in China, gain first-hand insights into their manufacturing and engineering operations, and learn more about the development of advanced industrial technologies and international business in the Chinese market.

The morning session will begin with a visit to CRRC Sifang Qingdao, one of China's leading manufacturers and service providers of passenger railway vehicles.
Participants will have the opportunity to discover the company's advanced production facilities, including its production lines for aluminum alloy and stainless-steel car bodies, final assembly and commissioning of high-speed trains, metro vehicles and other railway products.
The company visit will provide insights into advanced manufacturing, technological innovation, R&D and the evolution of China's railway and mobility sector


The programme will then continue at Carraro China, where participants will discover the company's manufacturing operations and engineering capabilities in transmission systems for off-road vehicles, with a focus on production, innovation and localization.


Bringing together CRRC Sifang and Carraro China, the visit will offer a valuable opportunity to explore different facets of advanced manufacturing and technological development in China, from railway mobility and high-speed transportation to power transmission systems for off-road vehicles.
The initiative will also provide an opportunity for business networking and knowledge exchange encouraging dialogue on industrial cooperation, innovation and business opportunities in the Chinese market.

About Mechanical Engineering Working Group (MEWG)
The MEWG represents the interest of all Italian companies in China working directly or indirectly in the sector on a national base.MEWG Objectives:

  • Coordinate and promote all Italian members’ needs which are active in many different industries of the Chinese mechanical engineering sector (machinery, automotive, component manufacturers, mechanical engineering...);
  • Promote and raise awareness of the size and the importance of Italian technology in the sector to all counterparts in China and Italy, in order to develop business opportunities.
