Sometimes the procedures for importing goods to China are not clear, this is true for many goods but most notable so for importing wine. Unforeseen difficulties and unnecessary risks make bringing your goods into China expensive and the timing unpredictable. Using wine as an example this seminar will provide answers to the major questions surrounding importing goods into China, by focusing on the following topics:

- Customs clearance
- import permits and procedures
- import contracts
- foreign exchange
- import tax

 

Speakers:

Mr. Pan Lidong (Wang Jing & Co.): Mr. Pan is a partner at Wang Jing & Co. Law Firm, representing many clients in commercial and maritime arbitration and litigation, in disputes of international trade and PRC Customs matters. Mr. Pan has been a speaker on arbitration and litigation, corporate, commercial or IP law at numerous symposiums, and he has attended several court hearings as an expert witness on PRC law in lawsuits of maritime, Customs issues, cargo transportation and international trade in Singapore, Russia and Hong Kong.

 
Mr. Zach Wortham (Wang Jing & Co.): Zach Wortham is the Senior Manager of the International Clientele Department of Wang Jing & Co. PRC law firm headquartered in Guangzhou. He is responsible for managing Wang Jing and Co.`s ever growing North American and European client list. He is also in charge of marketing the Firm`s corporate and IP work, and has a developed knowledge of the Chinese legal system. Zach has written numerous articles on the Chinese legal environment and been asked to present on such topics throughout the US, China, and Europe.
