Post Event - True Italian Taste – Masterclass History and Tradition of Italian Cheese Shanghai Sept. 5th, 2020

Dear Members and Friends,

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is glad to announce that the “True Italian Taste – Masterclass History and Tradition of Italian Cheese” has been successfully held in Shanghai on Saturday September 5th.

The event is part of the project “True Italian Taste”, promoted and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and carried out by Assocamerestero (the Association of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Worldwide) in cooperation with the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad. “True Italian Taste” is part of the program "The Extraordinary Italian Taste".

The event is aimed to support and promote the authentic Italian agricultural food products in China to hinder the issue of the “Italian sounding” phenomenon, products with an Italian appearance, but not considered an authentic Made in Italy product.

The event was opened with Institutional Greetings by Jialei Huang, ICE- Italian Trade Agency Trade Analyst and by Valtero Canepa, CICC Vice Chairman in Shanghai, who gave a warm welcome to all the participants.

      

 Afterwards, Emanuela Vizzarro, CICC Shanghai Office Manager, presented in detail the program of the day and delivered a speech on the relevance of the project and its main goals.

At the end of the presentation, the public was invited to take part to the Round Table “A Cheesy Journey in Italy” where the audience had the opportunity to know more about the authentic Italian cheese from the history to the modernity, passing by the sustainability and ways of making the cheese at home thanks to the three expert speakers of the day:

     

    

  • Raul Casserini, Managing Partner at Zinor Qu
  • Valtero Canepa, Leader Slow Food Shanghai Central Convivium;
  • Giulioantonio Di Sabato, Executive Chef at Lago Bellagio

     

 The Masterclass provided the participants with deep insights on the authentic and certified Italian cheeses PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) & PGI (Protected geographical Indication), in order to emphasize the special peculiarities of the Italian Cuisine, an extraordinary combination of variety, high quality, healthy raw materials and amazing flavors.

     

 After the cheese tasting, 20 selected KOLs have been invited to attend a Cooking Class with Lucky Lasagna Chef, preparing 3 Italian dishes - Caprese salad, Eggplants Parmigiana style and Tiramisu.
