Presentation of the EUCCC Business Confidence Survey 2021

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce is pleased to inform you that, thanks to the support of Italian members of the EUCCC Governance Bodies, we presented and discussed the European Business in China Business Confidence Survey 2021 (BCS) on Friday, July 2nd, from 10:00 to 11:30 am, at our Shanghai Office. The meeting, which took place both online and offline, was organized for the Sino-Italian business community.

The annual survey, released by the EUCCC in cooperation with Roland Berger, was completed by 585 European Chamber member companies, answering questions about 2020 performance, as well as future outlooks.

The seminar opened with a welcome speech of Mr Valtero Canepa, Vice Chairman of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, and the opening remarks of Ms Renata Pavlov, National Representative for Italy, States’ representative at the Executive Committee of EUCCC.

Mr Guido Giacconi and Mr Carlo D’Andrea, both Vice Presidents of EUCCC, illustrated the current situation of China national business market.

Then, Mr Massimo Bagnasco, Vice President of EUCCC, Mr Roberto Donà, Board Member Shanghai Chapter of EUCCC, Mr Alessandro Fiorito, Board Member South China Chapter of EUCCC, and Mr Luca Gasparri, Board Member Tianjin Chapter of EUCCC, shared their knowledge on the business situation in Southwest China, Shanghai, South China and Tianjin.

After the Q&A session, the seminar concluded with the closing remarks of Mr Michele Cecchi, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai. The Consul General, while congratulating CICC and EUCCC for the initiative, stressed the importance that Italian Institutions and companies play as a team in order to promote the Italian business and consolidate a European approach. EU-China relations, the new European trade strategy "Trade Policy Review - An open, sustainable and assertive trade policy", the importance of level playing field and fair and open competition were among the themes touched by Consul General Cecchi.
