On July 27th, 2021, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce organized, in cooperation with the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association (SGIA), the Seminar “China-Italy Fashion Industry - Industrial Development Road in the Post-Pandemic Era” in Shenzhen Binhai Cloud Center. The event saw the participation of more than 80 institution representatives, experts of the fashion industry and fashion insiders.

Gathering experts in the fashion industry, the aim was to increase awareness around the fashion industry and foster debate with an eye on the Greater Bay Area, especially in the post-pandemic era.

Before the seminar, Mr. Giorgio Daviddi, Deputy Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou, held an official meeting with Ms. Pan Ming, President of the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association, during which the two sides discussed synergies between China and Italy in the fashion industry, and explored opportunities in the GBA.

At the beginning of the seminar, Deputy Consul General Daviddi delivered a welcoming speech to all the institution and company representatives, journalists and experts of the fashion industry, highlighting the leading role of Italy in the fashion sector, and the two core strengths of the Italian fashion industry's development: design and creativity.

The speech was followed by the warm greetings from Ms. Pan Ming, President of SGIA.
