On August 26th, 2025, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and the European Chamber Tianjin Chapter, successfully hosted the seminar “Tax Big Data Management Trends & Strategic Compliance Challenges in 2025” at the European Chamber Tianjin Office.

The seminar explored how China’s evolving tax environment is reshaping corporate compliance and risk management. With the rapid development of the “Golden Tax System Phase IV” and the adoption of advanced digital tools such as big data, cloud computing, and AI, the regulatory landscape is shifting towards precision-based, intelligent tax administration.

The event featured expert insights from the PwC Tianjin Tax Expert Team, who shared both regulatory updates and practical perspectives on navigating the new compliance environment:

  • Ms. Kaye Deng, Partner at PwC Tianjin Tax & Business Advisory, provided an in-depth analysis of Tax Compliance Regulatory Trends and Case Studies in the First Half of 2025, highlighting real-world challenges faced by enterprises, including stricter oversight on digital invoices and R&D incentives.
  • In the following session, Ms. Kaye Deng and Mr. Scott Fan, Senior Manager at PwC Tax Technology Group, discussed how companies can leverage digitalization and AI solutions to build proactive and predictive tax risk management systems. They stressed the importance of early risk detection, supplier screening, and maintaining strong tax credit ratings to avoid penalties and protect policy benefits.

This seminar provided valuable guidance for enterprises navigating China’s fast-changing tax system, emphasizing the importance of moving from reactive compliance toward strategic, forward-looking tax risk management, supported by digital tools and data-driven processes.
