Companies have experienced difficulties obtaining visa for foreign interns as a number of years of work experience are required. However, this policy seems to be changing in Shanghai now in order to attract global talent. Shanghai has recently approved the first work permit for an international student who has just graduated. Experienced professionals, on the other hand, still have encountered difficulties getting work visa in China in many cases. Tina has been working in Taylor Wessing since 2006. She obtained her LLB and LLM from one of the top Chinese universities. In 2005, Tina was admitted to the Chinese bar. In this context, the set-up of an e-commerce platform should be tailor-made to attract online shoppers’ appeal, without overlooking China`s online legal and tax framework. A real case will be used to simulate this journey, from the ideas conception to the execution, as well as the daily operations of running an online shop.
