Workshop in Suzhou “Toyota Kata "

“Toyota Kata " Improvement and Coaching Kata is a systematic approach primarily intended to develop people’s capability for improvement and leadership by the means of consistent daily practice. Kata means way of doing, pattern or routine that over repeated practice becomes a second nature. Coaching Kata is the way to develop the leaders as internal coaches to teach the improvement kata every day, so that the expansion of kata “method” can be generated and a new culture reached in the whole company. The daily practice of improvement kata and coaching kata is done to develop people’ skills so that they solidly achieve improvements in the processes, either at the shopfloor (production), indirect areas or services.   In this workshop Mr. Dario Spinola, Vice General Manager and Head of Business Unit Lean at Staufen China, will introduce Toyota Kata, explaining how to develop learning skills through routine practice and how to deploy it into your organization. In a second presentation, Mr Jamie Lafferty, Lean Manager at Shanghai Axus Stationery Company, will share the experience of one kata from start to end. The case study follows a kaizen project focused on productivity improvement in a manufacturing cell. He will share how the kata can be visualised and shared, and the thinking behind the learner and coaches actions while going through the kata process. In the last presentation, Ms Michelle Chen, HR Manager of Shanghai Noblesse Media & Ad, presents about lean management that was first introduced to Noblesse in 2009. Since then, by adopting lean thinking and tools, the company has been trying to transfer from a traditional media company to a lean company. As the HR Manager, Ms. Michelle Chen is one of the early adopters and advocators for the change.   Speaker Profiles:   Mr. Dario Spinola | Vice General Manager and Head of Business Unit Lean at Staufen Shanghai Consulting   Dario Spinola has been implementing Lean for 14 years in Brazil, China as well as delivering coaching and workshops in other countries. He has worked with many international companies, providing Lean consulting and training in different industries. In cooperation with Lean Enterprise China, Mr. Spinola is co-author of e-Learning training about TPM and has customized the Lean Kata course for China.   Ms. Michelle Chen | HR Manager of Shanghai Noblesse Media & Ad. Co. Ltd.   Lean management was first introduced to Noblesse in 2009. Since then, by adopting lean thinking and tools , the company has been trying to transfer from a traditional media company to a lean company.
