                 China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with McGraw-Hill Construction (MHC), has the pleasure to invite you to participating in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo Urban Best Practice & International Architectural Forum, a three-day international conference from June 29th to July 1st, 2010 held at the Urban Best Practice Area at the Expo site. The event, endorsed by Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development and organized by Shanghai Municipal Urban-Rural Development & Transportation Commission, will invite international urban planners and architects who have helped design 2010 Shanghai World Expo , as well as government, business, technology and academic leaders to discuss global urban trends, and share their visions and strategies for a better future. The program is aimed to draw examples from the EXPO, but go beyond the pavilions’ projects by addressing the bigger trends of urbanization and the pressing needs of eco-compatible development, which are reshaping the way we work and live. Over a dozen EXPO projects will be featured and more than 20 prominent architects, planners and industry opinion leaders will speak, including: • Qiu Baoxing, Vice Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, People’s Republic of China • Wu Zhiqiang, Chief Planner of 2010 Shanghai World EXPO, Assistant President of Tongji University, Dean of College of Design & Innovation Tongji University • Tang Zilai, Chief Planner, Best Urban Practice Area, 2010 Shanghai World EXPO, Professor and Head, Department of Urban planning, Tongji University In the occasion, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development will also host a special Green Building Awards Ceremony to honor some of the EXPO projects.         Uto Ughi and Alessandro Specchi in concert for Italy at Shanghai World Expo 2010 Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 7:30pm The Shanghai Oriental Art Center   China-Italy Chamber of Commerce is pleased to extend to you an official invitation on behalf of the Commission of Italy for Shanghai World Expo 2010 for the Uto Ughi and Alessandro Specchi in concert at Shanghai World Expo 2010. The concert will be held on Saturday, May 22nd 2010, 7:30pm at The Shanghai Oriental Art Center. On the occasion of the Shanghai World Expo 2010, the Commission of Italy for Shanghai World Expo has invited Maestro Uto Ughi, one of the greatest violinists to perform a special concert at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center on May 22nd, 2010 as part of the rich cultural calendar of Italy for this year. The concert will see a beautiful selection of works from Pugnani, Beethoven, Paganini and Saint Saens, played by one of the Maestro’s two legendary violins, a violin from the “Guarnieri del Gesù” factory from 1774 and a Stradivari of 1701, known as “Kreutzer” as it once belonged to the violinist to whom Beethoven dedicated his famous Sonata. This project is supported by the Ministry of Environment and Land Protection of the Republic of Italy.
