SH NETWORKING DINNER | Week of Italian Cuisine in the World

Shanghai
20 十一月 2024
The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce CICC is glad to invite you to its Monthly Networking dinner, happening on the 20th November 2024 at Da Marco (103 East Zhu An Bang Road, Shanghai- 长宁区东诸安浜路103号上海维景酒店公寓1层). The event will be held as part of the IX edition of the “Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World”, and a special Menu entitled “Puglia…tra mare e monti” with the cooperation of FIC (Federazione Italiana Cuochi in Cina), will be prepared for our guests by 5 chefs: Antonino Scordo Domenico Palmisano Giuseppe Tino Marco Barbieri Armando Galantucci   INTRODUCING THE CHEFS Antonio Scordo Antonino Scordo was born in Reggio Calabria and nowadays has more than 20 years’ experience in the food and beverage field. He has been working in China for 13 years in Dongguan, Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai, and spent last 7 years in Nanjing, at the Jinling Hotel as an executive western chef. Antonio found a way to being original in the kitchen that is true to himself: authentic not in a historical, but rather in a personal sense. As a matter of fact, what he creates reflects what he is, as if his dishes were actually a mirror. Scordo is a hybrid creature, a man who grew up in different parts of Italy and then moved to China, where he built his life and career. And it is the complexity of his story that Scordo tells at the table and allows him to be unique.   Domenico Palmisano   A chef from Taranto in Apulia, began his culinary education at the Crispiano Hospitality Institute, laying the foundation for a career that spans both Apulia and Emilia Romagna. With a passion for regional cuisine and journalism, he pursued academic studies, earning a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Rome "La Sapienza." During his years in Rome, he continued working in the kitchen, developing a strong interest in traditional Roman cuisine. His international journey took him first to Bastia, France, and then, in 2011, to China, where he collaborated for many years with the restaurant "Mammamia" and other prestigious hotels in various major cities across Asia, further honing his expertise in Italian cuisine abroad. In 2017, he decided to open "Basilico," his first pasta shop, in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Spain. After a brief return to his native Apulia, Domenico chose to go back to China in September 2024, where he is currently working at the renowned Italian restaurant "Da Marco." His cooking is inspired by tradition and the authentic flavors of "Nonna’s kitchen," which he brings to life with rigor and passion. Beyond his culinary work, Palmisano is also dedicated to writing and satirical theater, collaborating with newspapers and theater companies in Taranto, preserving a deep connection with his hometown.   Giuseppe Tino Chef Tino is a highly creative and motivated professional with more than 20 years of management and culinary experiences in the Food and Beverage Industry. A lot of what is most beautiful about the world arises from struggle. Science Vs. Art, Tradition vs. Innovation, Man vs. Nature. Through Research and Science, we treat our ingredients, turning the gifts of the Earth and Sea into works of art. We are in tune with our times and prepared to break with tradition, but we carried our roots with us, to let them grow in here.   Marco Barbieri Da Marco" has become part of the history of dining in Shanghai, extending beyond just Italian cuisine. Marco, the owner and chef, opened this restaurant back in 1999, and it remains a landmark for both tourists and locals alike. The restaurant’s strength lies in its homemade-style cooking, with a focus on high-quality ingredients, an extensive menu featuring typical dishes from all regions of Italy. Beyond the food, there's also an impressive wine list. The true heart of the restaurant, however, is Marco himself, who still entertains guests and friends in the restaurant as if everyone were dining together at a family table.   Armando Galantucci Among the first chefs to ‘land’ in Shanghai in 2002, with the ‘Isolabella’ restaurant famous for his ‘penne con aragostelle’ (penne with lobsters) or homemade ‘salsiccia’ (sausage), as well as the traditional ‘orecchiette con cime di rapa’ (orecchiette pasta with turnip tops) from his beloved Puglia. His homeland ‘Pasta e Fagioli’ – ‘tortellini in rood’ the top-rated dishes of his Chinese clientele over 20 years. In other words, one of the founding fathers of Italian cuisine in Shanghai.   DISCOVER THE MENU As previously mentioned, our five skilled chefs from FIC, will prepare special delicacies for our guests. The dinner menu will highlight the rich flavors of Apulia's cuisine.   EVENT DETAILS Date: Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 Time: 6:30 PM – Beijing time Venue: Da Marco, Shanghai Address: 103 East Zhu An Bang Road, Shanghai- 长宁区东诸安浜路103号上海维景酒店公寓1层     AGENDA 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Registration 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Networking Dinner   TICKETS CICC Members: 430RMB Non-Members: 480RMB CICC Young Professionals: 380RMB   REGISTER HERE   The ticket price includes food and drinks.
