"theMICAMshanghai Puts the Best Foot Forward in China”. The second edition of theMICAMshanghai will run 11th to 13th October at Shanghai Exhibition Centre

we are glad to invite you to attend the second edition of theMICAMshanghai, China’s first international shoe show (Shanghai Exhibition Centre, 11-13 October 2013). 

 

Professional buyers, retailers, urban fashionistas and shoes lovers from all over China are getting ready for the coming season’s most anticipated fashion rendez-vous! After the successful spring edition, which was held in conjunction with Shanghai Fashion Week and visited by as many as 5880 specialized importers, distributors and retailers, the second edition of theMICAMshanghai is expected to be larger, more international and more glamorous

 

Cleto Sagripanti, the recently re-elected Chairman of Assocalzaturifici (formerly ANCI), the Italian Footwear Manufacturers’ Association declared: “The second edition of theMICAMshanghai will be a further important step in the consolidation of our outstanding platform of fashion and business in China. This April, we had received enthusiastic and positive feedback, which had confirmed the appeal of this event. In October we will offer our exhibitors and buyers an ever higher quality environment for trade”.

 

The autumn edition of theMICAMshanghai will open its doors once again to nearly 300 exhibitors, offering an area of more than 15,000 sqm decorated with brand new booths to proudly display the excellent design and quality of their products. Upwards of over 200 selected players have already confirmed their attendance shortly after the registration procedures were opened. This impressive trend highlights the great interest of the producers, over 80% of which come from major footwear manufacturing countries outside of China including Brazil, France, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

The upward trend of the purchasing power of Chinese consumers owes much to the growth of the local middle class, which is not shown only in terms of its disposable income, but also in its insatiable sophistication and appreciation for refined tastes. In October, theMICAMshanghai will offer a well-rounded celebration of beautiful, chic and quality shoes for making Chinese consumers’ Spring-Summer 2014 trendier and more comfortable. The 2014 SS male footwear collection combines formal and sportswear styles, simplicity and flat plane decorations, geometric forms and eco details, while the women footwear seasonal models feature a wide selection of colours, merging androgynous, hybrid and “healthy” elements, which typically characterize efficient and practical sportswear, blending embellishments, sophisticated elegance, haute couture jewels and ethnic styles inspired by the lush tropical vegetation.

 

Since this month, theMICAMshanghai has gone digital. In addition to its Weibo account, by it has opened its first LinkedIn Group dedicated to qualified buyers and expert footwear industry operators in China and abroad. This technological enrichment will consist of a forum for professional discussion and an important tool in communicating with the 200 VIP buyers, including representatives of selected medium and large-sized retailers, shopping malls, department stores, importers, and distributors coming from all over Greater China (including Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan) who will be fully hosted (including 5 stars hotel accommodation, domestic round trip flight and access to exclusive events) by the Exhibition Organizer. During the summer, a roadshow will tour the major cities around the country, including Shanghai (28th August), Hong Kong (29th August), Beijing (23rd September) and Chengdu (24th September) in order to promote the Trade Show.
