Italy Meets Suzhou SIP | Focus on Industrial Design

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CCIC), in cooperation with Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) and Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) successfully held the "Italy meets China - Suzhou SIP focus Sino-Italian Industrial Design Salon“ on June 6th, 2023, at Suzhou Industrial Park Enterprises Joint Open Innovation (ENJOI). This event presented a splendid salon in the field of indSIPustrial design to entrepreneurs from China and Italy, as well as professionals from relevant academic institutions.

 

The event commenced with a warm welcome address from Mr. Giacomo Bove, Director of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, who introduced the chamber's important role and function to the attendees. He emphasized the potential of Sino-Italian cooperation in business and cultural exchanges, encouraging participants to make full use of the platform provided by this event for deeper collaboration and communication.

 

 

Following that, Mr. Jiang Weiming, Director of the Investment Promotion Committee of Suzhou Industrial Park, expressed in his speech that the Sino-Italian Industrial Design Salon was a collaborative achievement between SIP and NABA. He emphasized the significance of industrial design in driving innovation and business development, highlighting that this event would provide participants with a platform to explore international trends in industrial design and the fusion of applied arts and industrial technology. Director Jiang sincerely thanked the leadership and colleagues of the Galileo Education Group and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce for their support and assistance in organizing this event, expressing confidence in the future Sino-Italian cooperation.

 

 

Subsequently, Mr. Donato Medici, CEO of the Galileo Global Education Group Italy and General Manager of the NABA, took the stage to deliver an in-depth analysis of the development trends in Italian and international industrial product design. Starting from Italy's strengths in industrial design, he emphasized the importance of design in driving innovation, technology, and business development. Mr. Medici pointed out that Italy has always held an important position in the field of industrial design and has gained global recognition. He showcased representative Italian design cases, demonstrating the innovation and excellence of Italian industrial design. He encouraged participants to boldly explore and practice in the field of industrial design to create superior products and services.

 

 

Following Mr. Medici's speech, Ms. Eleonora Manto, Senior Manager of External Relations and Customer Service at NABA, took the stage to share how NABA collaborates with the industry in the field of applied arts. She vividly described the close collaboration between NABA and the industry, showcasing the perfect fusion of applied arts and industrial technology. Ms. Manto emphasized that through interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative thinking, NABA together with Industry enterprises has jointly promoted the development of Italian industrial design.
