May 22th Leadership in China
CCIC - Service Providers Working Group (SPWG)

Dear All,

Due to the political summit held in Shanghai on 21st May we decided to reschedule our next meeting LEADERSHIP IN CHINA on 22nd May at 18:00.
The SPWG with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China invites you to our next meeting on May 22nd at 18:00 in Shanghai. Our guest Prof. Jan Ketil Arnulf (Associate Dean of BI-Fudan MBA program and Associate Professor, Department of Leadership and Organisation, Norwegian Business School) will present “Leadership in China”.
Leadership can be defined as “the action of leading a group of people or an organization, or the ability to do this”.

China offers various examples of successful leaders, among all we can mention Yang Yuanqing, CEO of Lenovo, one of the world’s largest PC manufactures that is aggressively pursuing fast-growing markets for tablet devices and smartphones, and Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group, China's largest e-commerce business, who is considered “Steve Jobs of China” and elected by the Financial Time Person of the Year 2013.

Nowadays China has become one of the major players in the global economy, thus it is important for today’s business leaders to understand Chinese culture and philosophy approach. How does Chinese leadership philosophy relate to western leadership theories? What are the consequences for cross-cultural leadership development?
Prof. Jan Ketil Arnulf will answer these questions and will present the Join&Share Salon, an association of Chinese and foreign MBA students that are now in management positions and share experiences, organize network-building activities, and help each other to develop their business in China.
