Post Event - CORPORATE EVENT DELOITTE - The "Robots"are here- Future of Finance and Accounting Work

Dear Members and Friends of CICC,

The Corporate event the "Robots" are here- Future of Finance and Accounting Work" co-organized by Deloitte and by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) was successfully held on the 24th of April at Four Seasons Hotel in Shanghai.

Ms. Emanuela Vizzarro, CICC’s Office Manager opened the event by introducing the CICC and welcomed  Mr. Olderigo Fantacci, the Managing Partner at Deloitte to give an overview of today's Agenda.

Deloitte's Senior Manager Mr. Roger Qu focused his presentation around Robotic and Cognitive Automation (R&CA). R&CA are apps that deliver ruled-based repeatable tasks and they are able to replicate tasks that are typically done by humans. The goal of R&CA's is to improve efficiency, simplify communications and increase capacity. Mr. Qu highlighted that R&CA's are able to achieve high levels of efficiency because of their ability to handle large spikes in volumes during transactions and have no tenancies to make human error. Moreover, R&CA's might prove very useful in the future because they allow highly skilled and trained employees to work on more analytically required tasks while the R&CA's can work on the more operational side of things.

While a continental breakfast was being served, Ms. Candy Tang, Deloitte's Indirect Tax Director gave the guests a brief introduction to China's VAT tax updates. The key thing to take away from her presentation is that China is: reducing its VAT rate, expanding its input VAT credit and it is refunding its VAT excess input. 

The event finished off smoothly with an animated Q&A and a Networking session.
