Post Event- “Missione Sistema Chengdu” 9-11th November 2016

The “Missione di Sistema” held on November 9-10-11th saw the participation of the Ambassador of Italy in China, Ettore Francesco Sequi, accompanied by delegates of the Italian institutions from the nearby town of  Chongqing, in the figure of General Consulate of Italy and the Chamber of Commerce, followed by a substantial number of representatives of leading companies in the fields of healthcare, energy, technology research, aerospace and sustainable urbanization.

This first “Missione di Sistema” in Chengdu is a further opportunity to strengthen the relationships between the two countries, which, in the years 2020, will reach 50 years of prolific diplomatic relations. 

                                                      

                                  

                                     

The territory of Sichuan, can offer an extraordinary opportunity for the Italian industries, thanks to a logistics system constantly growing and a strategic position in China.

The three-day meeting were organized by the visit of the New High Tech Zone of Chengdu that represents the more modern and contemporary that this part of China can offer to the industry in innovation and high technology, the meeting between Ambassador Sequi and the Mayor of Chengdu, Mr. Luo Chang, a supporter of the promotion of Italian culture in the city, an example of success in this cooperation is represented from Umbria Jazz Festival.

 

    

The visit of the University of Sichuan and the meeting with its director, Mr. Xie Heping. Research is one of the leading sectors of this university which is among the top 10 universities in all of China. The University, in fact, is always looking for opportunity of exchange between other students and professors from abroad. Mr. Li also officially invited the Ambassador to hold a lecture at the University.

Finally, the meeting with the Secretary of the Party of the New Zone of Tian Fu, Mr. Zhou Siyuan. This area represents the new challenge that the Sichuan promises to deal with. The Secretary of the Party announced the construction of an airport next to the zone, and also the project for a real Sino-Italian cultural park because our country, as well as being at the forefront in the development of technologies, fascinate for the sectors of culture, art and design.

This is just the beginning of what will be, a long and intense bond that, our community, intends to build and solidify with the region of Sichuan.
