06 四月 2022

The first meeting of the Board of Directors of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, elected for the two-year period 2022-2024, was held in Beijing and online on April 6th, 2022.

The meeting opened with a welcoming speech by H.E. Luca Ferrari, Ambassador of Italy to the P.R.C. and Honorary Chairman of the CICC.

Ambassador Ferrari congratulated the members of the newly elected Board of Directors, highlighting the results already achieved and the future goals that the “Sistema Italia” (Embassy, Consulates General, ITA Agency, ENIT and CICC) aims at reaching in a challenging moment for Italian companies.

Ambassador Ferrari then reiterated the following priorities:

  1. International mobility. In this regard, Ambassador Ferrari recalled the Embassy’s efforts to increase the number of direct flights between Italy and China, in addition to the flight operated by NEOS, which should resume its activity at the end of May (NdR. and for which CICC’s members have priority bookings on limited seats). Ambassador Ferrari also stated that the Italian Embassy and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce have been working for weeks on the organization of charter flights (such as done in 2020 and 2021), which are now pending the relative authorizations from the Chinese authorities;
  2. Consular support for Italian citizens affected by lockdowns;
  3. Upcoming activities of the “Sistema Italia”.

Following, CICC Chairman Paolo Bazzoni outlined the strategic lines for the next two years, engaging all the members of the Board of Directors.

  1. The strong growth in the number of members recorded in the two-year period 2020-2022 will have to be consolidated and possibly increased over the next two years through a constant improvement of the existing development strategy;
  2. Territorial development in the many regions of China will continue to be among the pillars of the CICC strategy. Now rooted in China with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu and Shenzhen, CICC will continue to strengthen and expand its presence in the country, in ever closer synergy with the Sistema Italia and the institutions that are part of it, with the aim of positioning our companies in an increasingly leading way;
  3. Constant improvement of the services offered to our members both in quantitative and qualitative terms to better satisfy and pay attention to the needs of our companies, helping them to face present and future challenges.

All Vice Chairmen and Board Members shared the sectorial tasks and priority issues that will guide the implementation of the Chamber's development strategy in coordination with the seven offices of the CICC located in the various regions of China. The Board of Directors is already working to make the current strategy even more effective.
