Post Event – The 1st Dialogue Meeting between Italian Companies in Wuxi and Wuxi Municipal Authorities

Dear Members and Friends of CICC,

The 1st Dialogue Meeting Between Italian Companies in Wuxi and Wuxi Municipal Authorities organised by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and supported by the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai was successfully held on 17th October at the Jin Jiang Grand Hotel in Wuxi, Jiangsu province.

The Consul General of Italy in Shanghai Michele Cecchi underlined the importance of Wuxi for Italian companies. He emphasized that in this historical moment the bilateral relations between Italy and China are very prosperous, recalling the Memorandum of Understanding signed by China and Italy last March 2019 in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative. He also recalled that next year will mark 50 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and China. 

Thereafter, Zhang Qianshan Deputy Secretary General of Wuxi Municipal People’s Government recalled the long history of the relations between Italy and China pointing out that nowadays are very good. He also emphasized the fact that Italy-Wuxi cooperation has reached a large scale and expressed his wishes for this cooperation to keep going and improving in the future.

The Chairman of CICC Davide Cucino talked about the interest of CICC in boosting Italian presence in Wuxi, which has been constantly increasing in recent years. He also recalled last March’s successful Cherry Blossom Business Forum in Wuxi and expressed his hope in receiving help from Wuxi municipal Authorities in order to organise similar events in the future.

Afterwards Filippo Betti, Senior Director of Ariston Wuxi, and Alberto Bellondi, General Manager of Thermowatt Wuxi, introduced their companies whose historical presence on this territory contributes in boosting the cooperation between Wuxi and Italy.

Pan Hongbin CEO of Jiangsu LD – Link International Logistics Co., LTD intervened and presented his company, as well. He talked about his cooperation with Ariston and expressed his wish to enhance cooperation with other Italian companies in the future.

The final part of the meeting was dedicated to a Q&A session.

The meeting was followed by a networking lunch, after that a company tour at Ariston was arranged.
