The Manufacturing Engineering Working Group (MEWG) of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is glad to inform you that the first Intercompany Network of the year was held on August 5th at Würth Industry Service (China) Co., Ltd, in Shanghai.
Around 30 people operating in Italian Industrial manufacturing companies participated both offline and online in the company tour aimed at learning more about different business case histories and perspectives of companies in China.
The half-day Open House event was opened by the CEO Mr. Larry Stevens, followed by the APAC Sales Director, Mr. Alberto Fochesato.
They introduced the business case of the Würth Industry Service (China) Co., Ltd, giving to the participants an overview of their strategy and 5 years vision, their approach, their global and local competitors.
Würth is a German family company since 1945, leading the worldwide market of connecting and assembly materials like fasteners, tools, chemicals and PPE; they have reached in 2020 14.4 Billion euros in sales turnover with all their companies located in more than 80 countries.
The company is present in the market since 1994 with the target to reduce the total cost of ownership of their customers on the management of these C-Parts through the use of their wide product range and the VMI solution like Kanban and Automatic Vending Machines.
Their vision is possible to achieve only through strong logistic support of our central distribution centre located in Zhejiang Haiyan with an area of almost 50,000 sqm including a fully equipped warehouse and the passion of all their employees that serve their customers every day.

During the MEWG discussion & Q&A, the vice coordinators of the MEWG working group, Mr. Antonio Tagliati e Mr. Carlo Nizia participated actively in this session and a significant input was made towards a clear program of the group’s future activities from September to December 2021.
Among the participants also the newly elected coordinator of the Energy & Environmental Protection Working Group (EEPWG) Luigi Minervini and the Vice-coordinator Marco Camertoni, invited in order to enhance the connection between the two working groups.
Later on, Mr. Fochesato led the tour of the Würth facilities in Shanghai, especially the showroom which allow all the participants to receive more information about their products.

The MEWG group will continue holding the Intercompany Network Series in order to offer all of you a precious chance of business cases learning.
