CICC Special Event: "The new borders of the global politics: China, Europe, Africa - is this the key for a more sustainable global development?" - with Romano Prodi

Romano Prodi has been one of the protagonists of the political history of our country and Europe in the latest 40 years.

During the meeting for the Italian business community only, Prof. Prodi is going to share his experiences and knowledge, analyzing the present global crisis, delving into the relations between China, Europe and Africa, that could represent a new way to a more peaceful and sustainable development of our planet.

Romano Prodi is one of the key public figures of the Italian and European economic politics during recent history.
In the course of his leadership, the IRI (Institute for the Industrial Reconstruction, 1982/89 and 1993/94), the most important Italian holding in that time, felt a wide change and many big Italian companies were privatized.
He was Italian Prime Minister from May `96 to October `98 and from May 2006 to May 2008. He also presided over the European Commission from 1999 to 2004, during a period of important events such as the Euro`s implementation and the enlargement to 25 members of the European Union.
Romano Prodi was Industrial Economy professor at the University of Bologna. Recently, the  12th of September 2008, he has been elected as the President of the High level group to write a report for the ONU about reforms of peacekeeping`s operations in Africa, that is to say, leader of the UN`s Special Commission for peace operations in Africa.
