Speakers:


Mr. Gerard DeBenedetto, AZ Investment Management (CEO)

 

Experience: Lehman Brothers, AIG, Marsh McLennan, Guotai Asset Management
Education: BA UNCG, MBA Fordham.
In China (Shanghai) he worked as an Executive Director for one of the major domestic asset managers with responsibilities on product development, international advisory and liaising with the local Authorities. In his role Mr. De Benedetto launched the first Index Fund investing in foreign markets for Chinese investors and secured the third largest foreign institutional investor advisory mandate in China (RMB 3bn).
 

Mr. Giulio Pagliai, AZ Investment Management (DCEO)

 

Experience: Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Azimut
Education: BA GIHE
In China (Shanghai) he worked as the Business Developer of Azimut Group in Asia. He was also the Deputy Representative of BMPS co-leading the establishment of branch operations in Shanghai.


Mr. Shawn Liu, AZ Investment Management (Chief Investment Officer)

 

Experience: Guotai Asset Management, China Merchants Fund, S&P
Education: BA Tsinghua University, MBA University of Virginia
In China (Shanghai) he worked as an Analyst and Senior Portfolio Manager for two of the major domestic asset management companies (managing over 9 billion in AUM). Mr. Liu was also an credit analyst at S&P China. Mr. Liu was co-fund manager of a Money Market Fund (RMB 5bn in AuM) and currently he manages a number of products with both domestic and international exposure for retail and institutional clients.
 

Mr. Stefano Chao, AZ Investment Management (Investment Manager)


Experience: Lehman Brothers, Barclays Capital
Education: BA Yale University, MBA China Europe International Business School 
In China (Shanghai) he assists in the management of AZ’s China money market fund and oversees research on the domestic fixed income markets. Prior to joining AZ, Mr. Chao worked for 7 years at Lehman Brothers in New York where he covered corporate and securitized credit. Within the principal investment team at Lehman Brothers Mr. Chao oversaw and managed over US$3 billion of high yield loan, bond and structured credit portfolios.
