The Italian Gala Dinner 2010 in Shanghai, which hosted “Premio Panda d’Oro, 2010 Edition”, was organized by China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and took place at the Peninsula Hotel on June 12th.

 

This event is part of Art in Life®, an initiative which this year celebrated its 7th anniversary and is aimed at promoting the Made in Italy and various aspects of the Italian genuine lifestyle. On the occasion of the black-tie gala dinner, exquisite Mediterranean food and wine were served.

 

Premio Panda d`Oro - 2010 Edition was officially organized by CCIC in partnership with Fondazione Italia Cina and under the auspices of the Embassy of Italy in Beijing, the Commission of Italy for Shanghai World Expo 2010, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.

 

Premio Panda d’Oro” will be an annual event to award companies and individuals, both Italian and Chinese, who contribute to reinforce and develop the bilateral economic relations between Italy and China. Nine prizes in seven different categories were awarded during the gala evening. The nine winners were awarded by the Jury among the candidates previously chosen by the Selection Committee from a list of 29 applicants.

The Ambassador of Italy to China, H.E. Riccardo Sessa was the Honorary President of the Jury, which was chaired by Franco Cutrupia, Chairman of CICC. Besides the well known entrepreneur Cesare Romiti, President of Fondazione Italia Cina, Jury Members were the Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Massimo Roscigno, the Italian Trade Commission Director, Antonino Laspina, the Managing Director of Fondazione Italia Cina, Alcide Luini, the Vice-Chairman in Shanghai of CICC, Claudio d’Agostino, the Vice-Chairman in Canton of CICC, Marco Bettin and Luca Vinciguerra, the China Correspondent of “Il Sole 24 Ore”, the Italian most popular economic newspaper.

 

The Selection Committee was composed by three experts: Thomas Rosenthal, Strategic Development and External Relations Manager of Fondazione Italia Cina, Fiorenzo Brioschi, Director of the Board of CICC, and Matteo Piccinali, Member of CICC and co-ordinator of its Thematic Work Group.

1. Italy goes China
Panda d`Oro Cina Award - Italian Company which has proved constant growth on the Chinese market, in the most recent years
Awarded to Gruppo UFI SOFIMA Automotive Filter (Shanghai) Co., Ltd; the prize was received by Mr Giorgio Girondi, President, and delivered by H.E. Riccardo Sessa

 

2. China goes Italy
Panda d`Oro Italia Award - Chinese Company which has proved constant growth on the Italian market, in the most recent years
Awarded to Huawei Italia; the prize was received by Mr Zhang Chunxiang, Senior Vice President, and delivered by H.E. Riccardo Sessa

 

• EXPO 2010 SHANGHAI Category
3. The China for ItalyExpo Panda Award - Chinese company which has distinguished itself for the support to the Italian Pavilion organization and its activities, fostering economic co-operation as well as cultural exchange
Awarded to Haier Europe; the prize was received by Mr Liu Ruchun, Vice General Manager Haier Italy, and delivered by Mr Franco Cutrupia

 

LEADERS Category
4. The Pioneer Panda Award - Italian Company which has achieved successful results on the Chinese market, by pioneering its investment into a novel unprecedented field
Awarded to FIAT Automotive Finance Co., Ltd; the prize was received by Mr Carlo Nizia, General Manager, and delivered by Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Massimo Roscigno

 

5. The Visionary Panda Award - Italian Company which has envisioned its China start-up and moved the first steady steps onto this ambitious market, achieving a consolidated growth
Awarded to Manuli Hydraulics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd; the prize was received by Mr Michelangelo Amelia, Chief Territory Operations China General Manager, and delivered by Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Massimo Roscigno

 

COMMUNICATION Category
6. The IseeChina Panda Award - Italian Company which implemented the best Branding, Marketing & Communication Strategy in China, infusing into the local market the intrinsic values of its corporate identity and brand
Awarded to BVLGARI Commercial (Shanghai) Co., Ltd; the prize was received by Mr Michael Gin, Finance Director, and delivered by Prof. Thomas Rosenthal

 

MADE IN ITALY Category
7. The Best Project Panda Award - Italian company which has implemented the best project for the promotion of the "Made in Italy" in China
Awarded to Progetto CMR (Beijing) Architectural Design Consultants Co., Ltd; the prize was received by Mr Massimo Bagnasco, Partner and Managing Director, and delivered by Prof. Thomas Rosenthal

 

GoGREEN Category
8. The EcoPanda Award - Italian company which has distinguished itself for its contribution in developing eco-sustainable business in China
Awarded to FAAM GROUP; the prize was received by Mr Ermanno Vitali, Vice General Manager FAAM Asia, and delivered by Mr Antonino Laspina

 

DISCOVER ITALY Category
9. The Voyager Panda Award – Italian company which has distinguished itself for helping Chinese tourists discover Italy and its lifestyle, by offering travel solutions increasingly attractive and service-oriented
Awarded to Costa Crociere S.p.A.; the prize was received by Mr Leo Liu, General Manager of Costa Crociere S.p.A. China, and delivered by Mr Antonino Laspina


At the end of the event, President Cutrupia commented, “This first edition is the result of a joint effort of CICC and Fondazione Italia Cina. It is with pride that we affirm we were able to work as a unified “system”. The “Italian System” in China is effective both at institutional and company level. Initiatives such as this one show its effectiveness and reward companies and individuals actively operating for the benefits of both Italy and China”.
