On the occasion of the “Italian Design Day” (IDD) in Beijing, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce is glad to share the following call for Italian companies in the fields of design (from industrial design creation to high-quality production).
The Italian Design Day, now in its 8th edition, is an initiative of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) held in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Culture aimed at promoting Italian design worldwide. The IDD in Beijing is organized by the Embassy of Italy to the P.R.C., the Italian Institute of Culture (IIC), the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CCIC).
The event will take place on 26th March at the Italian Institute of Culture in Beijing. On the occasion, Italian companies in the field are invited to showcase their expertise through written materials and videos.
The theme of the 2024 edition is “Creating value – inclusivity, innovation and sustainability”. At the centre, the exceptionally high-quality manufacturing process leading to exquisite creations of industrial design which are outstanding in terms of aesthetic beauty, functionality and material value, thanks both to the use of high-quality materials and to the ingenuity, innovation and attention to detail characterizing production. The creation of Italian design uniquely combines tradition and artisanal know-how with techniques that are innovative from the point of view of both technology and environmental sustainability. This year’s edition of the IDD whishes to also value inclusivity, making Italian design accessible and enjoyable for a vast public, across countries, age-groups and tastes.
The Design Ambassador of this edition of the Italian Design Day in Beijing, renowned architect Mario Cucinella, will attend the event together with VIP guests from institutions, businesses, media and the general public.
Italian companies offering products and solutions which embody the abovementioned concept of high-quality manufacturing leading to the creation of industrial design are therefore invited to showcase their production process and designs at the Italian Institute of Culture during the event.
Companies will be allocated a space free of charge at the venue for showcasing their manufacturing process (selection of materials, design and production) through visual materials (videos, images) and conceptual information provided by the companies.
