CICC met with Sichuan Tianfu New Area 22.12, Chengdu

On December 22nd, 2025, a bilateral meeting was held between the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and the Sichuan Tianfu New Area at the office of the latter.

 

The CICC was represented by Vice President in the Southwest Massimo Bagnasco. Meanwhile, the Sichuan Tianfu New Area (TFNA) Administrative Commission was led by Vice Director General, Mr. FENG Xiufu, who was accompanied by Deputy Director of DSICI (Sino-Italian Cultural Innovation District) of Sichuan TFNA, Mr. DU Xinyu, Chief of International Cooperation Department of DSICI, Mr. LIU Qi.

 

To open the meeting, Mr. FENG Xiufu first thanked CICC for the invitation to its Chengdu Christmas Event and expressed the intention to deepen exchanges on the DSICI project, while Mr. Du Xinyu reviewed the three-year cooperation achievements.

 

 

Mr. Bagnasco, drawing on his early involvement in the DSICI project, shared insights into its great potential and point of development, and, in alignment also with the key advocacy points of the CICC and also EU SME Centre,  offered targeted suggestions for increasing the awareness then attracting the interest of Italian and European companies, such as focusing on those SMEs which are not deeply engaged in the Chinese market, promoting specific projects which can facilitate market access, support direct cooperation at corporate level, and optimizing the business and financial support environment.

 

During the discussion, both sides agreed that the meeting laid a solid foundation for future cooperation, and also agreed to hold a roundtable early in  2026 to better understand the demands and needs of Chinese, Italian and European enterprises.
