CICC Signs Cooperation Agreement with the Nankai University’s College of Foreign Languages in Tianjin

07 December 2022

In November 2022, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Nankai University’s College of Foreign Languages (CFL) in Tianjin. The agreement will strengthen the collaboration between the two parties in creating opportunities for companies and young talents

CICC as the Italian business association in the P.R.C. aims at serving as a platform for facilitating its member companies in attracting the right talents for the local market. To this aim, our Chamber is intensifying the already strong connections with universities in China and Italy across a variety of specializations. In this framework, in 2019 CICC also established its Young Professionals Network, a dedicated platform for young talents, students and companies.

As one of the key universities of China, Nankai University was founded in 1919. The College of Foreign Languages, with a history of more than 100 years, at present boosts 10 departments (English, Russian, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, and Translation), one department of English teaching for non-English majors, seven research centers, and one post-doctoral research station.

Created in 2017, the Course in Italian Language was the first four-year academic course in Italian inaugurated by a Chinese multidisciplinary university. The Italian Department was then established in November 2019.

This collaboration will create a direct channel for talent recruitment, companies’ engagement and direct involvement in CICC activities for the students and alumni of Nankai University.

"This agreement is part of the CICC strategy aimed at increasing our presence in Tianjin and establishing new contacts with local universities and research centers to offer more and more opportunities to young talent in the area and to our companies looking for talent in the local market. I sincerely thank Professor Lin Yang, Director of the Italian Department at Nankai University's College of Foreign Languages, and Professor Letizia Vallini, also from the same Department. This agreement will allow our Chamber of Commerce and Nankai University to launch concrete career development initiatives and connect our companies with young talent in the area. Giving opportunities to young people and opening channels dedicated to them is even more essential in a phase of great uncertainty such as the one we are experiencing today."Paolo Bazzoni, Chairman of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce

"We are very pleased to announce that Nankai University’s College of Foreign Languages signed a cooperation agreement with the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce. The Italian Department was recently nominated as a National First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Point, and, since its establishment in 2017, it has always paid attention to the education of talented students. The cooperation agreement we signed with the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce includes internships, projects designed to provide students with employment opportunities, joint programs, and much more. I hope the signing of this agreement will provide students with more internship opportunities, and further the cooperation between our two parties in various fields while boosting economic and cultural exchanges between China and Italy."Professor Yan Guodong, Dean of Nankai University’s College of Foreign Languages
